Deewaar is a 1975 Indian crime-drama film directed
by late Yash Chopra, written by the popular writers Salim-Javed. The film star
casts Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor in prominent roles.
The film depicts the story of a pair of impoverished
brothers who struggle to survive on the streets of Mumbai after their family faced
betrayal from conspiracy created for their idealistic father.
The movie had a strong concept which made the
audience relate to it. This is one of the prime films which established BIG B as
the “Angry Young Man” of Bollywood cinema. The female cast of the movie played
by Parveen Babi came in different avatar where the heroine is a liberated
working girl, smoking, drinking, spending time with lover.
The movie became a blockbuster which resulted
the huge demand of the writer duo Salim-Javed who gave many more blockbuster
films after that. The movie entitles the wall in between the two brothers which
was created by fate and circumstance. The situation where you have to choose
between your loved ones and right.
The movie is one of a kind which focuses on relationship,
intense drama. It received 6 filmfare awards which includes the best movie
